How near is God?

Is he way up in the sky, looking down on us?

Was he near 2000 or so years ago?

Is he so close that he lives within us?

How near is God to you?

I've been reading this book called Crash the Chatterbox by Steven Furtick. And it's been speaking to me. About lots of lots of things...

Yeah, same. 

But Furtick points out,

“you can’t number someone’s hairs,

one by one,

from a distance.”

Not sure if you've ever tried to count someone's hair... but you've got to get up really close for that!

God knows the number of hairs on our heads. He is really close.

But he also sent Jesus to show us how close he is willing to be.

And he gave him the name, Immanuel, which means, God with us.
